Our story starts over 50 years ago when a once young Cantabrian named David became a registered electrician.

With a passion for new technologies, he started his own electrical company Smart Systems in 1997. Smart Systems has since become a household name for innovative electrical systems in homes and businesses around the South Island.

David knows solar is the future of energy and that’s why Smart Solar was born. Once he got it installed on his house, he knew other Kiwi’s needed to know about the switch to solar power because it just makes sense. It‘s an amazing renewable energy source that is not only good for your pocket & the planet, but it’s good for your future too.

Smart Solar is 100% Canterbury owned and operated and do everything in-house from the design all the way through to the install.
